A Place to Grow

Here are some of the regular activities we run which are designed to help us grow in our faith:

Prayer

Prayer meeting
Every Thursday morning at 8am we host a prayer meeting. This is a meeting where anyone can come and share and pray together. Come when you can and leave when you must is the motto - so if you can only come for 5 minutes on the way to work that is fine or if you can stay longer great! 2nd 4th & 5th week at NCC 1st & 3rd week on Zoom

Prayer Days
Usually once a year we host a full day of prayer with a specific focus. In the past we have used different prayer rooms, prayer styles and everything from art to music to activities to encourage us to pray together.

Prayer during services
Every Sunday morning service we have a dedicated prayer corner where a member of the prayer team is available to pray with and for you. Don’t be shy, they love to pray with people!

We have a dedicated prayer team you can contact on: prayer@glebechapel.org

Discipleship
We believe discipleship should never stop in your life, no matter age or circumstances God wants us to keep learning about Him and applying it.

Home groups
We have several homegroups who meet together throughout the week to study God’s word, pray and do life together. It is a place to share and receive together.

Bible Read Through
We organise a yearly bible read through group. This is a group of people who commit to reading the Bible everyday with the aim to have read it fully in a year. Some meet in person and some on Zoom.

Services
Sunday Morning - 10.30am we meet together as a whole church to worship and hear a message from God’s word. It is family friendly with contemporary worship.

Communion
We have a specific communion service on the 1st Sunday of the month at 5.00pm at Newent Community Centre where we have a time of open worship, break bread and then hear a message from God’s word.

Going Deeper
On the 1st and 3rd Sundays we run a variety of courses in the evenings. Sometimes lead by Tilsely Bible College or Gloucestershire Theology School where we have Bible College lecturers led us in study sessions on topics from creation to eschatology to studying the passion week of Jesus. We also run some in house courses. Most recently we completed an online mental health course. We have also had discussion evenings on contemporary issues like drugs, alcohol, gender issues, church history and politics.
