The trustees of Glebe Chapel purchased the community centre building in 2016. Since then they have overseen the first phase of a planned redevelopment with the intention of continuing to provide a community centre for Newent and the surrounding area and a home for Glebe Chapel (which is needed because we sold our existing site to fund the phase 1 development!).

The first phase has improved various community-oriented aspects of the building and we are currently seeking funding for the next phase which will provide a space large enough to accommodate the numbers that attend Glebe Chapel (currently ~150) on a Sunday morning. We hope to be able to begin this work before the end of 2023.

We are delighted that so many members of the community are using the buildings and supporting us in our plans. The building is crucial to the mission of Glebe Chapel: to be a church at the heart of the community.
