Glebe Chapel is led by a team of Elders and supported by Ministry Team leaders.

Our team of Elders serve the church by leading the vision and values and providing pastoral care for the church and the wider community when needed. If you have any questions about Glebe Chapel, faith or anything else please feel free to contact them.

Ian Cracknell

Elder
Mission & Outreach

Ian has been privileged to live and work on a dairy farm, enjoying and experiencing God’s creation. Glebe has been part of his life since as a child, he accepted Jesus as Saviour. At 18 he responded to God’s call to be involved in work with children and young people. During this time Ian met and married Ju (who also was a youth leader) and later felt God prompting him to become involved in Glebe’s leadership team where he is presently serving the Lord as an elder.

Stephen Cracknell

Up Until August 2022 I was milking our dairy herd of 150 pedigree Holstein cows. I am married to Helen and have three children, 1 daughter in law and a grandson. I enjoy playing badminton and table tennis, when I was younger I played football too but now I just enjoy watching it. My days are now filled with a variety of farming, church leadership and studying the Bible as I am part of the preaching team here at Glebe.

Andrew Cox

After a varied career in nursing, I’m currently working part time as a community nurse for St Michael’s Hospice.  I became a Christian in 1990 at Glebe Chapel and met and married Andrea there.

During the past 30 years I have served in a variety of roles within the church and feel called to help in a leadership and pastoral role in the fellowship.

Gathered Worship

I grew up on the outskirts of Newent and, bar a few years at University, have been here my whole life! I work in the NHS in Gloucester and when not doing that can be found playing badminton, running (albeit not very quickly or well) or more than likely binge-watching a TV series!! I learnt the piano from a young age and enjoy creatively putting songs together either for a Sunday service or just to sing on my own in my room!

I moved to the area in 1986 and have been attending Glebe Chapel ever since. I have two children, and work at the local secondary school as the Clerk to Trustee Board and also work part time as the Administrator for Glebe Chapel & NCC.

My name is Ioana and as you will probably tell from the spelling of my name I am not from England, but Romania. I am married to Paul and we have a daughter Lydia.

Pete Newman

Youth & Young Adults

Peter has been working with young people for 30 years. He is married with three children and loves walking in the countryside and woods. He enjoys playing football (but is not so fast these days) and working with the rest of the MTL teams here at Glebe Chapel. One of his favourite bible verses is found in Jeremiah Ch 29 v 11.

I work part time for the NHS. I am married to Chris and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. I enjoy working / caring for people. I like to see and encourage people to grow in their faith with Jesus.

I am Jenny and you will either see me cleaning Glebe Chapel during the week or sitting in the congregation on a Sunday with my family.
